Bay another day

So warm here for December...
The weather has just been beautiful!

Lots of Christmas too though it looks a little awkward in this unusual heat. Boat Parades, Santa Parades, tree lighting's, all in the Christmas spirit.

Sarasota Jazz Project

At the Farmers Market today the Sarasota Jazz Project played. They are so good and I just love the Big Band sound. Several are local school music teachers and others are retired professionals.

Thanksgiving 2012

Thanksgiving was easy this year. We had turkey breast, stuffing, gravy, British Potatoes by Alex and Cheezy Zucchini by Lizz. Then watched the movie "The Iron Lady" the story of Margret Thatcher and Alex gave us insider knowledge.

Siesta Key Sandcastle Contest

It's been a great two weeks here in Sarasota. First the awesome chalk festival drawings and now the stunning Siesta Key Sandcastle Contest. You will notice from the photo's they are almost 9 to 10 feet high.

The winner is:
A volkswagon gecko? Not sure but love those feet and scales.

My favorite is:

Look at those abs!
Or maybe this is my favorite....
and the funniest thing used in the process of making these sculptures is:
a currycomb - right? It looks like the ones we used to groom the cattle for the fair! And a few more photo's...

Chalk Festival Video

Ah yes, I did my first youtube video....

Chalk Festival 2012

Just amazing is all I have to say about the Chalk Festival held every year in the Burns Court area of Sarasota. It has grown yearly and now brings internationally known chalk artists. This years theme is "Circus" aptly named as Sarasota is the home of the Ringling Brothers Museum and the famous Nik Wallenda of walking across Niagara Falls fame this past summer.
